Do you see the Chinese, American, Australian or European government officials getting so worked up over/engrossed in “a game”. Sure, they’ll get serious about sport when it involves big socio-political-economic events such as the Olympics. Otherwise, they usually don’t accord much attention to sporting matters. In India and Pakistan, cricket is not only on the government agenda – it’s actually HIGH-PROFILE on their agenda!!!

Can governments who get worked up over something as mundane as cricket be taken seriously in global geopolitics?
