Which Cricket world cup was the best & which was the most disappointing?

I used the word disappointing instead of ‘worst’ because i don’t think you can call a tournament like world cup ‘worst’.
Well i have seen the last three world cups almost completely that is the 99,03 & 07 world cups but i have good enough info of other
6 world cups from 75 to 96.

Personal opinion-
1) Most well organised world cup = 2003 WC in South Africa
2) Best World cup = 1992 ( I believe that was the most competitive world cup ever. There wasn’t any domination by 1 or 2 teams in it, but 5-6 teams played good tough cricket in it)
3) Most disappointing = 2007 WC with Australia dominating it completely. The most disappointing thing about this WC was that out of 50 plus matches in it only 3 matches were close matches & they were-
Zim v/s Kenya, RSA v/s Sri Lanka & there was one more which i forgot, Lol!!!!!!!

2003 was also poor but there were a lot of good matches in it.

    World cup 1992 Australia was the best and world cup 2007 west indies was the worst for death of Pakistan coach Bob Wolmer.

    I consider 1983 world cup, in which underdogs India caused upset victory over the giant 2 times champion West Indies and won the world cup as the best and 2007 world cup which saw many upsets in the group stages and controversial final as the most disappointing world cup.

    1987 – close final, aus v eng
    1999 – brilliant semi final, aus v saf
    1992 – good matches, wasims brilliant final spell
    2007 – Gilchrists final, but 2 weeks too long, woolmers death
    1996 – bombings and boycotts, ind v sl semi disgrace
    2003 – too political

    overall maybe ’99 was the best, but you cant blame aussies for being too good in ’03 and ’07, its everybody elses responsibility to be more competitive.

    THE BEST WORLD CUP WAS OF 1983 WHEN INDIA WON A WORLD CUP & THE WORST WAS OF 2003 WHEN INDIA LOST IN FINAL FROM JUMPING KANGAROOS.

    the last 3 world cups have been the best,purely because I’m AUSTRALIAN and we achieved something that will be very hard for other teams to repeat-3 world cups in a row, plus we stretched our lead as the most successful odi side in the world with the most world cups 4,and i don’t think it will be our last :)

    Best WC so far, by farthest 1992.
    Worst was 2007.
    Most disappointing was 2007, not only because India and
    Pak did not make it, but also the death of coach Woolmer.
    Aussies were ruthless since 1999 and there is no team today
    that can beat them in a series.
