Why politicians bothering about cricket – got nothing more important to do?
curious asked:
How can countries like Pakistan and India be taken seriously in global politics when their NATIONAL governments become so engrossed over something so petty as cricket? Do you see the Chinese, American, Australian or European government officials getting so worked up over/engrossed in “a game”. Sure, they’ll get serious about sport when it involves big socio-political-economic events such as the Olympics. Otherwise, they usually don’t accord much attention to sporting matters. In India and Pakistan, cricket is not only on the government agenda – it’s actually HIGH-PROFILE on their agenda!!!

In China, government officials are planning the country’s ascent as the next global superpower!
In India, government officials are planning how to get elected to the BCCI board or keeping up with the latest IPL results.
Iran’s government is thinking about how it will develop nuclear weapons and become the most powerful state in the Middle East; Pakistan’s government is saying “Younis dropped the catch on purpose! MATCH FIXING, MATCH FIXING!!!”
Can governments who get worked up over something as mundane as cricket be taken seriously in global geopolitics?

Hey fake victory, Just shut up. You are neither Indian nor Pak. Don’t get bad names to these countries.
India is 28th in the GDP Growth. Most of the top software and hardware companies are having atleast 25% Indians. Also 33% doctors and 27% Scientists in NASA are Indian.
It was India’s Chandrayan which yielded a positive result and data for the availability of Water in Moon. Source : NASA. Not China’s
Indian Rockets have been launching Israel’s and many European Satellite’s for nearly 10 yrs now.
We are not concentrating on Olympics, I agree. But we have No.1 players in Badminton, Chess, Billiards, Wrestling, Boxing, Women Boxing, Shooting, and many more.
Match Fixing is a old case. Now some fools think Pak has involved in Match Fixing. Real pak supporters know how their team played 100%.
Just shut up and die off
